The Working Men's Club on Elder Road Northallerton rocked to the beats of the 60s on Friday 24th June with local band 'The Defenders' and belly-laughed with comedian Mike Kelly - all to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Organised by Hill Brothers Undertakers of Thirsk and Northallerton, the event also included a raffle, with fabulous prizes being donated by The White Swan at Ampleforth, Powerpoint Thirsk and Hares Studio Northallerton to name but a few.
Hill's Director Anita said 'My partner is a keen motorcyclist. He witnessed the Yorkshire Air Ambulance air-lifting his friend from the North Yorkshire Moors having sustained extensive injuries in a motorbike crash. As a result, this charity is close to our hearts and minds. We decided to fund a great night out at the Working Men's Club and to then donate all the proceeds to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity - it rocked!'
Anita also stated how fantastic the support had been from local businesses donating prizes for the raffle - 'The Thirsk and Northallerton communities really did themselves proud'.
Tony Doveston with Richard and Jeffrey Hill, were delighted to collect the final cheque from Hill Brothers at their Northallerton office last week stating 'We really do appreciate all the hard work and it was a great night out as well'.
